The Element of Nerd

We were eating dinner with some friends the other night and I mentioned (through the course of conversation) that I like to do paperwork. Yes, I actually enjoy doing paperwork. Everyone turned and looked at me like I was wearing shoes on my ears, but I can't help it.

That is where the Element of Nerd comes into play.

I like to write. Not write stories... I don't want to deal with how the protagonist and the antagonist interact, the climax or the theme of the story. (Please don't take that to mean that I can't come up with a story... just ask Husband how many stories I have come up with for him! If you are looking for some type of theory- conspiracy or other- you just let me know!! But I digress...)

So it's not stories that I like to write. Not songs or poetry either. I just like to write. As in putting letters on paper. Which is why I like paperwork. There is something satisfying about filling stuff out and then moving on to another piece of paperwork. Watching that stack of incomplete papers on the left side of the desk grow smaller and smaller while the stack of completed papers on the right side of the desk grows taller and taller. True satisfaction.

And now you know just how much of the Element of Nerd is actually in me.
