On The Road Again

As you may or may not know, my family and I have been traveling the last couple of days. We spent Tuesday morning packing and cleaning the house (because it goes against every fiber of my being to leave a messy house to go on vacation... who wants to come home to not only vacation laundry, but a house to clean up, too?!) and Tuesday afternoon driving to Montgomery and checking into the hotel for the night. Wednesday morning (please note that it was just barely Wednesday morning) we got up and drove to the airport. Did you know that the hotel shuttles don't run at 4:00am? We then spent 6.5 hours flying across the country to land in "Sunny and breezy with a high of 72" Los Angeles, CA, where my parents were there to greet us! Needless to say, the kiddos were thrilled to see Grandma and Grandpa. Husband and I were glad to see them also, but we managed to refrain from doing the happy dance that my children performed in front of everyone waiting in the baggage claim. Once we drove the 3.5 hours from the airport to Kingsburg (with the inevitable stop at In-N-Out for lunch) we were all giddy just to be able to sit somewhere that wasn't moving!!

Today was spent with a visit from Grammy and Grandpa Benny and just hanging-out.

Tomorrow the true adventure begins. We will rise with the sun (or my son, whichever happens to rise first) and then pile into the car for a 10 hour drive to Prescott, AZ where we will spend Saturday morning beaming with pride as we watch Daddy/ Husband graduate from college! Yes, he now holds degrees in Professional Aeronautics. What, you ask, does that mean?! It means that he is now qualified to be a Professional Aeronaut, silly! (If you'd like to know what it really means, you'll have to do some research on your own. When you figure it out, let me know!)

Husband has just informed me that my highly anticipated Midori Sour is ready for me, so I will now stop to partake. Let my true priorities show!

I really hope you survive - that would seriously mess up my escape plan in a couple of weeks (days... I'm too lazy to do the math).

We're proud of him too. From a distance. :)
