We have been in CA for 2 weeks now. There are a few things that will happen each and every time my family visits CA. Husband will have to eat In-N-Out at least 4 times. (Please note that we hit our In-N-Out quota in the first 5 days on the West Coast.) Son will have to lead Grandma around with a jump rope referring to her as "a nice horse". Daughter will smash her face against the french door in the family room and lick the window. (She is only 21 months... we're hoping she is over that phase soon!!). I will shop with my sisters and mom. Husband and I will crawl into bed with the title track of "My Blue Heaven" playing.
I recently realized that each time we come and stay with my parents we watch "My Blue Heaven" about 1,000 times. Actually we only watch it about twice, but since we "watch" it right before bed (and then promptly fall asleep) we have to start it over again the next night, and the next night, and the next night. I think you probably get the point. It usually takes about a week before we can get through the whole movie.
So, I have come to realize that in much the same way that In-N-Out, "a nice horse", washing glass doors, and shopping have become an integral part of the time we spend in CA, Barney Coopersmith and Todd Wilkenson/ Vinnie Antonelli will always be just as much a part of my life here. Welcome to the family, boys!

Too Funny...but what I really want to know is why were you up at 0100?
And you know when I read the title I was expecting more news than that Steve Martin has become a member of the family!
I don't think I have ever seen that movie??? It must be good if it has become a tradition in your fam!
